Miller Manufacturing Company, a market-leading manufacturer, distributor and marketer of farm, ranch, and pet products, is searching for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Anoka, Minnesota. 

Shift/Hours: Days

Summary:  Provide maintenance support in a plastic injection molding facility to ensure the production of quality products with on-time delivery. Manage a group of team members that are performing corrective and preventive maintenance on a wide variety of equipment including: plastic injection molding machines, water chillers, air compressors, robots, material grinders and other auxiliary equipment.

Essential Functions: 

  • Lead and direct the maintenance and janitorial department employees and projects to consistently deliver best-in-class maintenance and janitorial support throughout the plant and facilities to insure all are properly cleaned maintained.
  • Assist technicians with identifying, troubleshooting and resolving process and equipment failures while conferring with the shift leaders to maintain scheduling requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program within IQMS to minimize and track unscheduled machine downtime, service hours, costs and also to support our equipment replacement and upgrade schedules.
  • Diagnose the building, facilities and support equipment (including forklifts) for maintenance and repair needs and determine whether the necessary tasks have been completed with internal or external resources and follow through with appropriate project completion based on those diagnosis to insure complete and timely repairs.
  • Develop and provide metrics related to budgeting effectiveness and performance of the maintenance department including machine down-time logs and cost reduction initiatives to effectively monitor and manage the maintenance functions.
  • Develop and negotiate partnerships with third party contractors and service providers to deliver best in class service and value to keep the facility operating at the levels to support our customer and business needs.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, communication and overall development of employees to insure they stay current with changing technologies and servicing techniques.
  • Analyze work orders and establish priority requirements for completion of job assignments to insure correct tracking of activities and related costs.
  • Participate in the on-going support of our equipment replacement and upgrade requirements, leads the requisition of tools, equipment, and supplies on a daily and “by project” basis to allow Executive Leadership to make informed decisions on equipment and facility needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). Associates degree in a related field is preferred.
  • 5 years of machine maintenance experience.
  • 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fluid power, electrical / electronics, computer / PLC controls.
  • Injection molding and support equipment technical experience preferred.
