The Director of Marketing provides leadership in directing, developing, and coordinating all strategic initiatives for Miller Manufacturing. This position will also provide oversight and support for all tactical Miller initiatives supporting the strategic business plan and specific oversight of all Marketing and Customer Service initiatives. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This person serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and has a thorough understanding of the relationship with and between Marketing, Sales, Operations and Finance responsibilities within the Company.

  • Direct all Marketing efforts of Miller Manufacturing including the efficient production of all communication efforts and that the Sales division is provided with necessary supplies and tools.
  • Responsible for thoughtful and planned expansion of new products and services in both existing and new markets. Define economic considerations of new products or markets to help ensure products are launched only after careful consideration toward effectiveness and ability to market them profitably.
  • Oversee management of Miller Manufacturing’s product portfolio and pricing thresholds to deliver optimized sales and profitability performance.
  • Provide leadership in development and implementation of strategic business plans for Miller Manufacturing, including use of 4DX to drive execution.
  • Facilitates, counsels, and advises department heads and managers regarding the strategic business planning process for each division and ensures they are consistent with the mission, goals and objectives of Miller Manufacturing.
  • Direct marketing research efforts and leverage data analysis to support decision making and direction.
  • Develop, maintain, and continue to evolve the corporate communication plan, including the website, to deliver better service to customers and consumers, while improving efficiency and cost effectiveness. Direct all publicity and public relations efforts.
  • Participate in the due diligence process of potential acquisitions to determine long term market value and opportunity of such products or companies.

Knowledge, Education, Experience and/or Certifications: 

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Ten or more years of relevant and increasingly responsible experience in Marketing, including five years leading a team.
  • Experience with Farm and Fleet chains, animal health and farm supply distributors, national hardware chains, and pet supply distributors are preferred.
  • Experience using Business Intelligence Systems preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • On-the-job training may be required.
